I have selected to show Splan’s “Doilies”. The design of each doily in the series is based on a different viral structure. The project explores the domestication of a microbial landscape. Also pictured is “Surface Tension” which hints at the invisible worlds that are at play as we wash our hands. The presentation and research behind the work really appeals to me as well as the sleek look to the work.
