Ellie Antoniou

I had a really thought-provoking tutorial with Ellie today. She advised that I think of the QR code as an object rather than something to decorate. To possibly make the QR code out of materials rather than surrounding it. If I do this I would have to consider what kind of material I use as well.

She also suggested I try to embed the QR code into the photo so that at first you don’t see it. I'm not sure if the QR code will still work by doing this but I would have to try it. It could be a possible way of integrating the QR codes better.

Another recommendation was that because my photographs seem very liquid that I could try to introduce audio and that this could suggest movement also. Given that this is the second time Audio has been suggested I feel like I should at least do an experimental piece involving it. That my work is very sensory and I should play more into this.

She really enjoyed my work and said that there is something liberal about my work in that it is available for the masses. She also made an interesting comment in the technological aspect of my work, that the idea of spread is like that of sharing on Instagram, creating a technological disease. That how we see technology in relation to health is not that separated.
